The sheep’s body comes in two pattern pieces so that it can fit on a standard piece of printer paper. Tape these two pieces together as instructed.

How Do I Make My Sheep TWO Colors?
This sheep has two colors for its body.
The easiest way to create this effect is by sewing the two types/colors of fabric together BEFORE cutting out your pattern pieces.
Of course, making the sheep two different body colors is totally optional, but it sure is fun to make him this way!
The first thing you will want to do for this project is sew these two colors of fabric together.
Take your two types of fabric, face them right side together, and sew a straight edge with a 1/2″ seam allowance.
Use your pattern pieces to make sure there is enough fabric on either side to cut out all of your two-toned pieces!
If you have stripes/any kind of geometric pattern for part of your sheep, you’ll want to double check the orientation of fabric you’ll need for the head vs the arms/legs.
I used a striped corduroy fabric, which means that I needed the stripes on the corduroy to be horizontal against my white fabric for the head, and vertical against the white fabric for the arms and legs.
How To Cut Your Pattern Pieces
Iron/smooth out your joined fabric pieces onto a table.

Trace each pattern piece onto your fabric, using the dotted line on the arms, legs, and head as a guide for where the seam of your joined two-toned fabric should lay.

Trace and cut. Again, be careful of the orientation of the head pieces vs the legs/arms!
(The body will be cut out onto a solid color piece of fabric)
For the legs and the head, you’ll want half your pieces facing one way and the other half facing the other.
In other words — flip the pattern pieces for your legs and face upside down for half your pattern pieces.
This will make it so you can sew your legs and face right sides together when it’s time to sew!

List of Pieces to CUT!
You will want a total of:
4 arm pieces
4 leg pieces (2 facing one way, 2 facing the other way)
2 head pieces (1 facing one way, 1 facing the other way)
2 body pieces
2 outer ear pieces
2 inner ear pieces

Next — Sew Your Sheep!

Next, sew your arms and legs right sides together. Leave the tops open to stuff with wool.
Sew everything with a 3/8″ seam allowance!
Sew the body right sides together, and leave the neck AND the bottom straight edge of the body OPEN.
Sew the ears right side together. Leave the straight edge open.
Stuff the arms and legs with wool 3/4 of the way full.
Fold the raw edges of the tops of the arms inside the arms and sew closed.
The Legs (special instructions!)
Stick the legs INSIDE the body (leaving the body inside out), with the feet poking out through the neck hole.

Even out the tops of the legs, making them even/flush with the bottom edge of the body, and sew into place.

Pull the legs out feet first through the neck hole. This will also turn the body right side out!
Finishing Your Sheep
Stuff the body with wool.
Stuff the head with wool. Hand sew the head to the body.

Hand sew the arms and ears to your sheep.

Use a hand sewing needle to hide all your thread on the inside of the sheep’s body.
Use the head pattern piece as a guide for making a face on your sheep.

Use a pencil to lightly mark where the eyes, nose, and mouth will go.

With dark colored thread or embroidery floss, hand sew these features onto the face.

Hide the ends of your thread inside the sheeps body. This keeps them nice and strong.
Happy Sewing!
