The BFG

Free printable worksheets and activities to go with Roald Dahl’s The BFG!

When I was a kid, The BFG was one of my favorite books!

I especially remember the part of the book when The BFG mentions that he could hear flowers scream when he picked them.

For a long time, I was wary of flower picking, just in case any of those flowers were screaming!

Now that I have my own children, I have loved sharing this book with them!

We have both read this book aloud with our children, and have given them an audiobook recording for them to listen to.

My kids choose to listen to The BFG as their bedtime story over and over again!

Add The BFG to your child’s reading list and give them these fun activities to go with the story!

It’s a great book to add to your homeschool day!

Below, I’ll share with you the audiobook resources I use for this book.

I’ll also show you what’s included in my FREE printable PDF of Big Friendly Giant activities!

Auidiobook Resources

Our kids love their Yoto players!

Yoto players are screen-free audiobook players for kids.

No internet, no ads.

It’s basically like raising kids in the 1930’s — I see the same excitement in their eyes listening to their Yoto players as I imagine children used to have while gathering around the radio to listen to Little Orphan Annie.

The Yoto players and Yoto cards are also fairly indestructible, which is a gigantic bonus for my 5 feral farm children.

The BFG is one of the Yoto cards my kids have. So, they primarily listen to The BFG on their Yoto players.

Here’s where you can find audiobook recordings of the BFG, whether you have a Yoto player or not! My free PDF activities can be used with the hard copy of the book, or either of these audiobook resources!

Note: In 2023, all of Roald Dahl’s books had portions rewritten and are now different than Roald Dahl’s original publications. While the audiobook recordings were recorded 10 years prior and are not affected, you may wish to do some reading and decide which physical hard copy of The BFG you personally wish to own.
