The ultimate Waldorf Gift Guide!

It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of Waldorf.

We all want the best for our children, so the idea of giving our children high quality toys to play with feels like a no-brainer!

While I’m also a huge advocate for making your own toys for children, I understand that’s not always a possibility for everyone!

So, here are some high quality toys made from natural materials that are sure to be well loved and valued, earning a permanent place in your home!

Bonus: Looking for gifts under $10? Scroll down to the bottom for that awesome collection!

1. Holztiger Wooden Animals

These Holztiger wooden animals would be an adorable addition to a child’s playroom!

Even more so — these toys are heirloom pieces that will last until your future grandkids come over to play.

The Holztiger wooden animals come in many varieties, from farm animals to dinosaurs.

These durable toys are handmade from hardwood (mainly beech and maple)!

They’re free from toxic materials, and since they’re made in Germany, they’re up to European standards.

At the time of publication, these toys range from $9 – $29.

Here’s a list with convienet links to everything you see in the above picture:

2. Classic Wooden Block Set

This next gift idea is a classic — a classic set of hardwood blocks.

This set is a personal favorite for me.

We have owned this set of blocks for years, and they still look new.

These blocks have truly been played with DAILY for the YEARS of us owning them!

They’re a favorite toy for little guests, too!

And — because of their classic beautythey’re the only “toy” I keep in my living room.

And as a bonus — they come in a lovely solid wood box.

I keep my blocks in a thrifted basket, but that quality box is still in use, too.

(admittedly, the wood box is currently holding some not-very-waldorf plastic lego duplos, but hey. seasons of life, man.)

Granted, this set is by far the most expensive item on this list, but because we truly love ours so much, I couldn’t neglect to share it with you!

The blocks are currently priced at $85. Hint at the grandparents to gift it to your kid. That’s what we did.

3. Outdoor Adventure gifts!

Okay, let’s be honest.

This has to be the coolest collection of ideas.

And again — I have a lot of personal experience in this area.

We’ve given these gifts to our nieces and nephews.

They loved them SO much, and played with them constantly!

We also have plans to gift a couple of these to our own children this year.

Seriously. My kids spend all day running around in cloaks fighting with wooden swords. It’s a memory I will forever cherish in my heart. I don’t think anything trumps the sweetness of such a sight.

I mean, c’mon. Look at that crossbow, guys.

And that cloak? 100% cotton!

You literally cannot go wrong with any of these.

AND most of these items come in 2 packs! Your child will be all set up to battle their siblings and friends!

(did I mention the cloak comes in adult sizes, too??)

Best of all?? These items range from $8.99 – $40 at the most expensive.

You can find these items here:

Have some basic sewing skills and want to make your own cloak? I have a FREE and PRINTABLE pattern with a photographed tutorial here on my blog!

4. Mushrooms and Doll Gifts

What would a Waldorf toy post be without mentioning peg dolls?

Okay, okay, so everyone loves peg dolls.

BUT WAIT. THERE’S MORE.

Now there are peg-doll-like MUSHROOMS!

How do you like them apples….er…mushrooms.

But yeah. These are cute.

Paint the dolls, paint the mushrooms, or just leave them as is!

And of course, please don’t give little toys to young children at risk of choking.

These are both affordable gift options — at the time of posting, they are $13.99 and $16.99!

That’s a good bang for your buck!

Throw these into your basket of wooden blocks and you’ve got an awesome setup for endless hours (and generations!) of play!

5. Gifts for Baby

Have a littlest of little in your life?

You can’t go wrong with any of these gifts.

I’ve used the wood rattle pictured here for 3 of my own babies now.

The wood rattle becomes more beautiful as it ages with a combination of time and baby drool.

These items are priced beautifully, ranging from $7.95 – $22 (the majority at $10 or less!)
