This workbook has short stories and poems taken from a 1920’s school reader.
The original reader was written by Edith Wilhelmina Lawson in 1926. She was an elementary school teacher.
The book — called A Pet Reader — is full of animal stories.
The reader is filled with plenty of stories and poems of household animals and farm animals!
In this free printable workbook, your child will read each animal story or poem.
Then, they will answer a couple of questions about each story or poem.
On the next page, words from each story or poem will be traced and written out by your student.

Please note — not every story has been included in the free workbook I have created. I removed any stories that might seem sad to children (for example, I did NOT include any hunting stories!). The audiobook and link to the full book DO include stories about hunting.

The audiobook can be downloaded for free, and put onto a MYO Yoto card, if you wish!
