To listen to this story all about Bach, listen below!
This story about Bach is from a book written in 1915 by Thomas Tapper.
The book is called Johann Sebastian Bach : The story of the boy who sang in the streets, and is part of his series Child’s Own Book of Great Musicians. It’s an absolutely wonderful series!
You will want to listen to this recording as part of this music history lesson.
The recording is only about 10 minutes long, so it’s easy to listen to more than once if you need to!
Everything your child needs to know for this activity is in the recording below!
What’s included in the PDF
Let’s take a look at what’s included in this PDF of Bach activities!
The PDF document is 6 pages long.
One of these pages is an answer key! Make sure you remove that from your print out before you give it to your child, or skip printing it out and just check their answers by reading the answer key in the PDF file!
The rest of the pages in this document are worksheets that go with the audio recording above.
It includes questions, fill in the blanks, and lots of images to help make Bach come to life for your child!
Plenty of childhood stories of Bach are in this lesson, with illustrations of a young Bach for the stories to help your child really connect with this composer!
There’s also a family tree of Bach — he came from a very musical family, and this family tree helps your child better make the connection of who different family members are who are mentioned in the story!
Two of the activities in this packet are taken directly from the book by Thomas Tapper.
One is a list of facts about Bach, written out so your child can reference them however many times they need. Your child will write a story about Bach in their own words using these facts.
The second may be treated as a quiz about Bach, if you wish. It contains questions taken directly from the end of the Thomas Tapper book.
