Audio Files
While it’s possible to complete the entire PDF without the audio files, listening to a story and poetry makes these activities much more fun!
These worksheets have a couple of audio files to go with them.
In these audio files, you will find a story about Jimmieboy and the story of him receiving a valentine from the postman.
Jimmieboy’s Valentine was written in 1902 by John Kendrick Bangs.
It’s a chapter from the book Bikey the Skicycle and Other Tales of Jimmieboy.
Before listening to this audio file, it’s worth mentioning that Jimmieboy was written in 1902 and therefore has historically accurate vocabulary for the word “odd.” The worksheets do not contain this vocabulary — and it’s possible to complete the entire PDF without this audio file if you would prefer.
The second audio file is a poem called Valentines, written by Ellen D. Masters.
Valentines is read by Matthew Pettus.
