This activity is aimed for younger readers/listeners of Peter Pan.
Put a positive spin on growing up — let your child daydream about it here!
This activity encourages imagination and helps your child practice their writing skills!
Growing Up
While Peter Pan has such a negative outlook on growing up, use this activity to help your child understand that there are positive parts in EVERY stage of life!
Point your child’s mind towards positive aspects on each stage of life, from babyhood to golden years!
Remind your child that life is a gift, and every stage is valuable and can be looked at with thankfulness!
Essay Question
This is an activity aimed for older readers of Peter Pan.
Your child will read a bit of history of Peter Pan’s author J.M. Barrie.
They will also read a quote he wrote of his memories from childhood taken from a book he authored about his mother.
After reading these things, your child will try and make as many connections to J.M. Barrie’s life and his book Peter Pan.
From character names to major themes, see what connections your child comes up with!
Peter’s Shadow
I love hands on activities that further immerse children into the story!
Well, it doesn’t get much more “hands on” than this!
Draw a line from each shadow puppet to the animal it most resembles.
Then, grab a flashlight, turn down the lights, and see how many shadow puppets your child can recreate!
Classic Coloring Page
Last but certainly not least, a coloring sheet is included with the original artwork from the first edition of Peter Pan!
I love coloring activities — they can be saved for after the book has been read, or they can be completed while listening to the audiobook recording!
