Word Search
This Anne of Green Gables word search can be completed while your child is busy listening to the Anne of Green Gables audiobook!
Word searches are especially helpful for younger listeners who are listening to the audiobook version of Anne of Green Gables. This way, they can still “see” the words and practice reading and spelling them while finding each word in the search!
In addition to spelling, reading, and vocabulary improvement, word searches help develop problem building and perseverance.
Handwriting Practice
This handwriting sheet will give your child practice reading, writing, and spelling some of the names and places in Anne of Green Gables!
Especially suited for the youngest of listeners, this activity allows for children who are still learning to read and write to participate in these Anne of Green Gables activities!
Anne of Green Gables is a wonderful book that can be enjoyed by a wide variety of ages — I know many preschoolers who have developed near obsession with the audiobook!
With this activity, even the youngest of us can enjoy learning more about Anne with an E!
Cursive Handwriting Practice
For older listeners and readers of Anne of Green Gables, I have included this cursive handwriting practice worksheet.
At the book’s release in 1908, cursive would have been common practice.
While cursive is often no longer taught in schools today, many are still teaching it to their children.
I personally think that cursive is beautiful to look at and important to be able to read!
This activity will help your child put their cursive writing into practice.
If they’ve never written in cursive before, this is an excellent opportunity for a first attempt!
Letters to Anne
On this page, your child will have a creative writing prompt!
Your child will imagine themselves bosom friends with Anne Shirley.
What kind of letter would they write to Anne if they were her friend?
In this activity, it’s encouraged to include examples from the book. For example, perhaps your child is asking their good friend Anne if her hair is still green from a recent event!
